Definisi Digital Forensics

Berikut ini adalah beberapa definisi tentang digital forensics yang didapat dari berbagai sumber : 

• Digital forensics is the process of uncovering and interpreting electronic data for use in a court of law. The goal of the process is to preserve any evidence in its most original form while performing a structured investigation by collecting, identifying and validating the digital information for the purpose of reconstructing past events.
• The application of computer science and investigative procedures for a legal purpose involving the analysis of digital evidence after proper search authority, chain of custody, validation with mathematics, use of validated tools, repeatability, reporting, and possible expert presentation.
• Computer forensics is the application of investigation and analysis techniques to gather and preserve evidence from a particular computing device in a way that is suitable for presentation in a court of law.
